The keep fit stalwart is organising her final Methlick Bike Ride for charity on Saturday (June 6).

And then the veteran of years of cycling ventures and treks both here and abroad is bound for Malawi next month for a 300-mile trip over six days.
Evelyn, 76, will take part in both events to raise funds for Nkhoma Hospital, an hour’s drive east of Malawi’s capital Lilongwe.
But the latest two-wheel challenge for the Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society (EMMS) from July 3-12 will definitely be the last for the grandmother of 11, who says it is time to call it a day.
She told the Times: “I’ve volunteered and been accepted to take part in the EMMS Malawi Bike Ride 2015 for the Nkhoma Hospital.
“As this will be my twentieth adventure with EMMS over the last 17 years and my sixth in Malawi, I have now, in my advancing years, decided that this will be my last and final ride abroad.
“I’ll be in the company of some 30 others -10 of whom I know from previous bike rides - from various parts of the world.
“Together we aim to raise about £100,000 for the hospital where, at the end of the Bike Ride, we have the opportunity to visit to and meet the people who work there and to see for ourselves the needs that will be met by our bike riding efforts and by the support of others. This will be very special.”
Closer to home, Evelyn is busily organising the Methlick fundraiser which will get under way at 1pm.
It will start from Methlick Church and the route will cover 10 miles or 25 miles.
Evelyn said: “I’m hoping there will be a good turn-out and that the weather is favourable.”
Traditionally, quite a few cyclists turn up on the day. Evelyn will be supported by her reliable back-up team providing bakery, teas and soup.
