Shoppers at Tesco in Ellon will have the opportunity to donate to Aberdeenshire North Foodbank this weekend.
Volunteers from the Foodbank will have a stand at the shop entrance on Saturday (July 15).
Donations of non-perishable foodstuffs are being collected to help support individuals and families in the local area who are struggling to feed themselves.
Volunteers from the Ellon Foodbank, which operates twice a week from the town's Kirk Centre, will be on hand from 9am to 5pm.
Aberdeenshire North Foodbank has seen a steady increase in demand for its service, causing it to run short of certain items.
Manager Jeannie Price explained: " All our food parcels are nutritionally balanced in order to provide recipients with enough to make breakfast, lunch and an evening meal over three days at least.
"Occasionally we can run low on certain things which we need to maintain that nutritional balance. At the moment, it is things like tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, small jars of coffee and long life fruit juice."
