A fundraising football match will be held in Mintlaw on Friday night (June 15).

Glen Thomson from Ellon has organised a match between two of his former Formartine United Under 19’s teams.

The match is expected to be very exciting, considering one of the teams previously won the Murray Cup while the second team won the Sunnybank Shield.

The match will kick-off at 7.30pm at the MACBI Community Hub in Mintlaw.

Following the match, refreshments will be served at the Garret Bar in the village.

The event is being held to raise money for MS Scotland.

The charity was chosen as Glen is currently living with the condition.

The match is free to attend but donations for MS Scotland will be welcomed on the night.

Glen is a huge football fan and although he no longer plays, he currently manages north east football team, the Mintlaw BC 2003’s and he also runs Turriff Development Under 20’s.

All football fans from across the north east are welcome to come along.
