Eight retired Ellon doctors met in the Tolbooth recently to socialise and mark the occasion of one of their number moving south to be nearer members of her family.
All used to work at Ellon Medical Practice but continue to live in the area.
Many of the older members of the local community will, with the passage of time, remember with nostalgia and fondness their dealings with their former GPs who served during a 50 year period.
Dr Morrison joined the practice in 1963 and Dr Simpson retired in 2013.
Between these dates the other six came and went operating initially from the old bungalow type surgery in Station Road and moving to the current health centre in 1979.
All eight doctors worked in the area on a long term basis and between them in total chalked up well over 200 years service.
