A senior care worker at a Kemnay care home has won a top award in the fifth annual Meallmore Awards which took place earlier this month.
Sarah Stewart received the award for Senior Care Worker of the Year at the awards ceremony which took place at Perth Race Course on Wednesday, October 7.
The award recognised Sarah’s outstanding performance and the fact she goes the extra mile to ensure high standards of care are delivered to elderly and vulnerable people.
Sarah works at Kemnay’s Grove Care Home and she has been praised for her dedicated and thoughtful attitude as well as being intuitive to residents’ needs.
She said: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed to have won this award. I wasn’t even expecting to be nominated.
“I love my job but awards such as this are the icing on the cake.”
Sarah added: “I know that a lot of residents and their families nominated me and I’d like to dedicate this award win to them.”
The Meallmore Awards celebrate the positive impact care home staff make to people’s lives on a daily basis.
Residents, their families, colleagues and visiting professionals are able to nominate staff for the awards in which there are 12 different categories.
Managing Director of Meallmore Ltd, Gerry Hennessey, said: “I’d like to take this chance to congratulate Sarah on her award win and for her hard work over the past year.
“Our annual awards are an extremely important way of recognising the efforts of our hard-working teams, who regularly go that extra mile in ensuring our residents receive the best levels of care and support.”
