An Aberdonian barber is celebrating after winning an international award.
Former Methlick School and Ellon Academy pupil, Kyle Ross, was named the Best UK Barber 2017 at the 1o1 Barbers International Barber Awards.
The competition was held over two days on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 October.
Kyle is the owner of Aberdeen salon Huntsman and has more than nine years of experience as a unisex stylist.
Over the years he has worked in some of the Granite City’s top salons but is now located on the city’s Union Street.
Kyle, 27, set up his Huntsman salon in November last year and it will celebrate its first anniversary on Sunday, November 19.
The International Barber Awards saw 21 barbers from 14 nations gather in Nuremberg, Germany recently.
The competition was completely live and barbers from across the globe had just one chance to put their skills to the test and to prove that they were better than all the rest.
The entrants carried out either a hair or beard cut and shave and their efforts were judged by a renowned expert jury.
Prior to the competition finals, entrants had to take part in a preliminary round and those that were successful went on to a qualifying round.
