AT LEAST six motorists had a lucky escape on December 30, after their cars left the B999 in two separate accidents.
The first collision took place just after 7am at the Newmachar turn off and involved two cars, while the second took place near Whitecairns at around 7.55am and involved four cars. Some of the drivers suffered minor injuries. A police spokeswoman added that it was likely the incidents were weather related.
One of the drivers at the scene of the second accident told the Times: “The whole road was just sheet ice. Naturally, the gritter arrived after we had left the road, which I wasn’t very happy about.”
