MELDRUM Academy hosted its annual Christmas Fair on December 21, with pupils and staff turning out in force to support the school’s project groups.
Ten stalls represented Meldrum Young Enterprise, the Eco and Creative Hour Groups, and the Fair Traders, among others.
The Young Enterprise Group succeeded in raising £177 from their raffle, ‘Guess the Birthday’ competition, and sales of hot chocolate. The plan is to use this money to adopt a Guide Dog puppy.
Teacher Wendy Jessamine told the Times that it had been an enjoyable day for all concerned.
“Our Eco and Creative Hour Groups also did really well,” she said. “Once again the pupils rose to the challenge of producing environmentally friendly products with purchasing appeal. It was a great atmosphere and the pupils were very appreciative of the efforts staff and fellow pupils had made to make the event possible. All in all, a wonderful start to the Christmas Festivities.
