Local MSP Gillian Martin has expressed her delight for those winners of Pride of Aberdeen Awards from her constituency.
The successes included Blue Light Hero David Gauld, Carers of the Year Anna and Johnny Cordiner, Community Venture Fly Cup Catering, Countryside Award winners Lochter Activity Centre, and Local Citizen of the Year Audrey Wood.
The winners were revealed at a star-studded ceremony at the AECC on November 12. There were more than 500 nominations and over 10,000 votes cast and 60 finalists.
Commenting, Ms Martin said: “I’m delighted for all the winners of awards.. It’s fantastic that the hard work of so many of my constituents has been recognised by voters in the North East.
“I know first-hand the contributions made by some of the winners, like the Fly Cup in Inverurie who provide a great work environment for their trainees. And no-one is more deserving of winning Local Citizen of the Year than Audrey Wood from my village of Newmachar.
“I’m especially pleased for Anna and Johnny of Kayleigh’s Wee Stars. It was my honour to host them as my guests and Local Heroes at the state opening of parliament earlier this year, and I’m thrilled that Kayleigh’s Wee Stars has received more recognition.”
