Nurseries across Aberdeenshire are encouraged to celebrate the anniversary of the book - The Very Hungry Caterpillar - by holding their own Giant Wiggle event.
Charity, Action for Children, is joining The World of Eric Carle, in urging North-east nurseries to host a Giant Wiggle on the same day as the book anniversary on March 20.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the UK’s most read children’s book, and celebrates the 145th year for Action for Children.
The Giant Wiggle will see children under 5 wiggling along in giant caterpillar conga lines, encouraging them to help each other, and inspire them to use their imaginations with storytelling and creative activities.
Action for Children fundraising manager, Helen Quigley, said: “By hosting a sponsored Giant Wiggle at your nursery you will be helping us continue to support vulnerable children, young people and families in the heart of communities in Aberdeenshire, and across the UK.
“If you would like to join in the celebrations and organise a Giant Wiggle at your local nursery, then please get in touch.”
