Organisers of a reunion of former supermarket staff in Ellon have had to change the date of the event.
Jean Claridge and Vicki Noble are arranging a get-together of employees who worked at what is now the new Aldi store in the town’s Ythan Terrace.
But due to a booking mix-up, the buffet-disco at the Station Hotel has had to be brought forward to Saturday, October 25.
Staff who worked at the former Norco, Presto, Safeyway, Morrisons, Somefield and Haldanes supermarkets have been invited to the reunion.
Jean said they had only learned of the booking slip-up on the hotel’s part last week.
She told the Times: “We are disappointed but we will sort it out.
“We will have to change the tickets and posters and we will refund any tickets that have been sold if anyone can’t make the new date.
“There is still a good buzz about the night.”
Hotel manager Mrs Dorothy Keith said he did not want to comment, preferring to deal directly with the organisers.
Jean and Vicki had spoken for a couple of years about getting ex-colleagues together for a night of nostalgia.
They felt that with the Aldi store opening at the riverside site, the time was right to meet up again.
The reunion evening - to which partners are welcome - will get under way at 7.30pm.
Tickets priced £10 are available at the Coffee Pot and the Chocolate Bar.
