Christmas tree lights were officially switched on at an Aberdeenshire church recently.
Organised by Newburgh Gala Committee, the event saw crowds gather to view the switch on at Foveran Church in Newburgh on Sunday, November 30.
Organisers have described the event as ‘very successful - very well attended’ which welcomed lots of people who came out to support the children singing around the tree.
Afterwards it was time to head to the Newburgh Public Hall for a fundraising Soup and Pudding.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the Newburgh Gala in May and again was described as a huge success.
Newburgh Gala committee secretary Doreen Astley said that local groups and businesses turned out to show their support at the event.
She told the Times: “The Udny Arms and The Newburgh Inn provided the food for the event and local businesses Watson Family Butcher, Costcutters and Chrissy G provided raffle prizes.
“Entertainment was provided by the Newburgh Tooters - a group of musicians of all ages and abilities who meet to play music together each week.”
