North-east SWRI meetings

Esslemont SWRI president Mrs Helen Smillie opened the meeting by welcoming members and a Happy New Year greeting.

Ythan Fiddlers provided the entertainment, which was enjoyed by all. This was followed by tea from the committee, competitions and the business meeting.

The vote of thanks was given by Mrs Sue Armstrong-Mills. Mrs Smillie wished all members a safe journey home. The next meeting will be on February 6.

Auchedly and Ythanbank SWRI members were welcomed to their January meeting by Lil Emslie who said grace for the Burns Supper of haggis, neeps and tatties. Margot Airth then dealt with business before members had trifle, clootie dumpling and tea or coffee.

Margaret McHardy thanked all who helped towards an enjoyable evening.

Alford SWRI president Moyra Mitchell welcomed members to the first meeting of 2014 and introduced local man Mike Webber.

Mike gave a most interesting presentation of his and wife Alison’s work as Street Pastors in Aberdeen.
