A popular Ellon sandwich and coffee bar is celebrating 11 years in business.
Trading from the town’s Bridge Street shopping arcade, Delicious has become a real local success story and has just enjoyed a refurbishment.
Owners Tracy Gibb and mum Liz have thanked all their customers over the years for keeping the business vibrant during unsettled economic times.
Tracy told us: “From the very start we have been aiming for the everyday person who is going to come in for their lunch every day.
“We’re also very busy with the trade from local businesses and we benefit from a lot of repeat custom which has been fantastic.
“We also also cater for people who are on holiday or visiting the town.”
Tracy has also been quick to adapt to change - most notably when the new Ellon Campus opened.
She told us: “Business never stays the same, but we’ve actually managed to get a lot of that trade back as we now do school deliveries where pupils can text us their order and we pop it up to them.
“Where once we were queued out the door at lunchtime with pupils, that has now been replaced with new customers which is great to see.”
Another reason for success has been keeping the prices reasonable and in doing so ensuring it retains a very strong local customer base.
Tracy explained: “We continue to serve good wholesome food that’s freshly-made on the premises and we constantly listen to what our customers want.”
Delicious continues to diversify its menu, with Liz’s mouth-watering stovies bolstering the likes of the home-made sandwiches, baguettes, panninis and soups the shop has become renowned for.
Thanks to the recent refurbishment there’s also more seating room for customers to enjoy their meals and snacks inside and out.
Tracy said: “On behalf of everyone here at Delicious thank you to all our customers over the years and we look to seeing lots of new faces in the years to come.”
