Ellon Men’s Shed held an open day at its Hospital Road base at the weekend.

A day of pouring rain failed to dampen the spirits of both the Men’s Shed members and their visitors.

The open day event gave members of the public the opportunity to step inside the shed and learn more about the group from the members themselves.

A range of items made by members at the shed were available to view and purchase.

Visitors were also very impressed by the giant model railway set located inside.

Speaking to the Times on the day Ellon Men’s Shed chairman, Colin Grieve, said: “We have had a steady turnout, I think the weather has actually worked in our favour.

“All money received here today will go straight to the shed.”

He added: “We have had three new members sign up today and we encourage anyone interested to learn more to come along and see us.”
