An Ellon optician has recently refurbished its popular practice in the town centre, to accommodate the high demand for services.
Duncan and Todd Group added an audiologist and extra rooms for both optical and audiology appointments which has helped significantly reduce waiting times by around 40 per cent.
Employing 11 people, including two opticians and one audiologist, the optical practice has always proved busy but, after offering hearing care as an additional service, has received unprecedented demand for appointments.
The new fit-out has created more space including a new sound-proof hearing screen room and a tea room for staff.
This comes after full-time audiologist, David Brown was appointed, introducing hearing care to meet the market demands of current clients and increase capacity for new patients and services.
Duncan & Todd’s Ellon store offers audiology appointments, where hearing care checks-ups are a thorough but simple process.
Practice manager and dispenser, Nicola Stewart, said: “In recent years we have seen the stigma of hearing loss reduced, alongside advances of technology that mean people who are using hearing aids can twin this with their own electronic devices. More and more people are conscious of taking control of their own personal healthcare and we are happy to support this increasing trend.
“Having worked with Duncan and Todd for almost a decade, I’m extremely proud of the service we offer – giving our patients the best service and options available to treat them.
“I’ve been welcoming our loyal patients to Ellon for a number of years and look forward to continuing to do this in our new look store.”
