The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called out to attend a fire at Ythanvale Care Home in Ellon yesterday.
The service was alerted to the incident at 12.03pm on Monday, May 13.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to Park Road where firefighters extinguished the fire within the roof space of the single storey building.
“All residents were evacuated and the Scottish Ambulance Service was on scene to provide precautionary checks to those who have required it.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
Ellon and District councillor, Gillian Owen, commented: “The fire at Ythanvale Care Home was challenging for all.
"The staff were remarkable and the evacuation plan was swiftly put into place.
"I would just like to express my thanks to all the staff as it must have been horrific. I hope the residents are all none the worse for this experience.”
