The Formartine Floral Trail will return for its second year to celebrate stunning floral displays and work carried out by local volunteers.
A Flowerpot Family has been introduced to the Trail this year, not only as an interest for locals, but to bring tourists to the area to see the flowers and support local businesses.
The flowerpot family members have been created by primary school pupils, Formartine In Bloom entrants and local businesses across the area.
The Formartine Partnership is behind the initiative and all of the Flowerpot Family members and their stories are available to view on their Facebook page.
The group is also encouraging Ellon residents to keep an eye out for their flowerpot Fred’s family members.
Residents can visit one member, jOrdY, at JRD Equipment and the Partnership say he is quite a character!
The Formartine Floral Trail will officially be launched on Friday, July 29 at Celebrations in Turriff at 10.30am.
Those going along to the launch are welcome to meet the Flowerpot Family at the Turra Coo Corner from 11.30am.
You can also meet some of the Flowerpot Family members at the Ellon Farmers Market at Neil Ross Square this Saturday (July 23).
