The headline act for this year’s Gig at the Brig in Ellon will be the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
Organisers of the popular Hogmanay party revealed their top draw on Monday.
The band, made up of pipers, guitarists, keyboards and drummers, will extend their sell-out Scottish tour for 2017 to finish at the Ellon extravagaza.
It is the bagpipe group’s 15th anniversary year.
Ellon Events put the New Year’s Eve event together and a committee spokesperson said: ““We are absolutely delighted to have the Red Hot Chilli Pipers headlining our event this year.
“This will be the fifth anniversary of Gig at the Brig, which continues to go from strength to strength, becoming one of the best places in the North East, to celebrate Hogmanay.
“This licensed event attracts up to 3000 people of all ages, and feedback from previous events was fantastic.
“The event takes place close to the “Auld Brig” in Ellon, which is a magical back-drop for such an event.”
The Gig at the Brig also boasts a spectacular fireworks display at midnight, bringing in the bells, and the local Legion Scotland pipe bandappearing on the bill with a set of traditional Scottish music.
The spokesperson added that they will soon announce the other performers for this year.
There are only 3000 tickets available for the event, and it is anticipated that it will sell out quickly.
Tickets are for sale online, through the Ellon Events website at www.gigatthebrig.com or www.buytickets.at/ellonevents.
Super Earlybird tickets - available for a limited time - will be £20 for an adult, £7.50 for a child, and free for under-fives.
Organisers are hoping that securing a big name act so early will give the Hogmanay event a significant boost.
Lower-than-expected crowds attended last year’s celebrations in the town centre to see tribute band Abbamania.
