New Community Councillors sought for Kemnay

The three year term of Kemnay Community Council is due to expire at the end of March 2015, and nominations are now being sought for 15 Councillors.

The deadline for nominations is Sunday, February 8.

David Evans of Kemnay Community Council said, “In particular we need enthusiastic applicants with new ideas willing to take on responsibility for developing and enhancing our village, improving the environment and community facilities.

“In particular we wish to attract someone willing to take on Secretarial duties for which an honorarium is paid.

“Community Council Meetings take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on the last Thursday of each month except for July, August and December. Meetings, which are friendly and non-political, are usually attended by Aberdeenshire Councillors and the Police, subjects discussed can cover matters such as planning applications, new housing developments, crime, vandalism, speeding, litter, dog fouling, environmental issues, village initiatives, bus services, Christmas trees and Christmas lights, in fact just about anything to do with Kemnay.”

To qualify for nomination / election applicants must be aged 18 or over, live in and be registered to vote or have a business in the Kemnay Community Council area. A map of the area is shown on the Kemnay website and a copy of the Electoral Register is available at Kemnay Library or checks can be made via the Contact form on the Kemnay website.
