The MP for Gordon visited Ellon-based engineering solutions firm SengS recently.
Colin Clark, along with Ellon & District councillor Gillian Owen, headed along to the firm’s Balmacassie Industrial Estate base to meet with its new managing director.
David Benison took up the role of managing director at SengS two months ago after leaving his post at global energy services firm Aker Solutions.
At the meeting, David told Mr Clark and Cllr Owen about the work that SengS carries out in the local area, as well as its work in the wider Pryme Group.
David also gave his visitors a tour of the workshop and explained how its testing facilites are used.
Speaking to the Times David said: “Coming to SengS has been interesting, it has been a complete change for me to have come from such a huge business to a small one like SengS.
“There have been some issues but we are working through them and this year we aim to stabilise the business and grow our Ellon base.”
Colin Clark MP added: “It is great to welcome David here and he will be a great managing director.
“He needs to build the reputation of SengS and a good way of doing that is by inviting people here so they can see the work and learn more about the business.
“SengS is a great example of engineering excellence in the north east that can export across the world.”
