The Gordon Forum for the Arts (GFA) is getting ready for a bumper year.
Its 24th annual Gordon Art Exhibition will be held in Inverurie Town Hall from Friday, March 20.
This socially inclusive community event attracts exhibits from professional and amateur artists alike and also has a young person’s section.
The exhibition runs for five days and usually attracts around 400 exhibits and 2000 visitors. A variety of locally sponsored cash awards are offered and winners this year will have the additional opportunity to exhibit work at the Acorn Centre, Inverurie, through the month of July.
People interested in exhibiting this year should consult the conditions-of-entry guidance notes on the website www.gordonforum.co.uk. where downloadable entry forms can be found along with details of Life Drawing Classes which are offered over the weekend of the Exhibition.
The GFA will be holding a public feedback meeting about the Art Exhibition along with its AGM soon after the event. The date and venue will be posted on Facebook and the GFA website shortly.
There are changes to the constitution proposed which will make membership issues clearer.
The Forum is looking for a new treasurer and secretary in addition to new committee members.
Art exhibition organiser, Janet Hoper, said: “Lots of volunteers contribute time to this major event which is also supported by a number of local businesses.
“The huge volume of local artistic talent displayed at the exhibition is a joy to see and makes the effort well worthwhile”.
