Three further open meetings will be held this month for those interested in becoming a member of the new Ythan Valley Rotary Club.
Meetings were held in the area in April and included a drop-in session at BrewDog.
The plan is for its founder members to decide where and when they would like to meet and to decide on what projects they may like to take on board.
Jim Hatter, the area assistant governor said: “Rotary is all about the belief in giving something back through service in our communities, working together for the betterment of our society.”
Speaking at the recent open meeting in Methlick, district governor Ian Dow said: “Every local community needs access to Rotary.
“What is better than local people feeling they belong to something that as a group can get things done?
“You might be that person who can help.
“It may be an opportunity to have a good laugh whilst doing something really worthwhile in and for local communities.”
The first open meeting will be held at the Ellon Kirk Centre on Saturday, May 11 at 10am.
This will be followed by a second meeting at the Newburgh Inn (“Briggies”) on Wednesday, May 15 at 7.30 pm.
The third meeting will be held at Ythanbank Community Hall on Sunday, May 19 at 4pm.
This meeting will include pizza and snacks but booking is essential.
The inaugural meeting of the Ythan Valley Rotary Club is planned for Wednesday, May 22.
The time and venue of the meeting will be announced nearer the time on Facebook or those interested can contact the club via e-mail or phone.
