Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin and the Minister for Childcare and Early Years visited Rainbow Rogues to see how it supports children with additional needs.
Ms Martin and Aberdeen Donside MSP and Minister Mark McDonald met the group during one of their weekly sessions, held in Esslemont School near Ellon.
The group started in 2005 as part of SureStart in Aberdeenshire and is now its own fully formed charity.
Ms Martin said: “I was really impressed by the hard-work of the volunteers and the support and care and love they provide not only to the children but to their families as well.
“Many of us will have experienced first-hand family of our own or those close to us who need to support of charities like this. It’s really important parents know that a support network like this is available to help.”
