Changes made to Aberdeenshire polling places

Aberdeenshire Council has announced a number of changes to polling places across the region ahead of the Scottish Parliamentary Election on May 6.

Councillors will be asked to note the changes at a meeting of Full Council on Wednesday this week.

The polling district and replacement polling place are:

Myrus/Macduff – Buchan Street Hall, Macduff.

Longside East – Rathen Public Hall.

Lonmay – Roads Community Cafe, St Combs.

Peterhead Central – Territorial Army Centre.

Longside – St John’s Church.

Ellon Town – Victoria Hall.

Inverurie West and East – Garioch Indoor Bowling Club.

Insch – Bennachie Leisure Centre.

Echt – Echt Parish Church.

Cairnie and Glass – Cairney School.

Huntly – Linden Centre.

Alford – Alford Ski Centre.

All other existing polling places used in other polling areas across the region will remain.

A number of schools will also be used.

However the council’s Election Team has said it is a “priority” to remove them in the future and replace them with alternative venues.
