Because of Covid restrictions, door-to-door campaigning and in-person events are not possible, but Graeme Downie is keen to use digital technology to meet local voters.

His campaign has announced two initial surgeries to take place via Zoom tonight (Thursday, 6pm-7pm) and Saturday March 27, 10am-11am.

No prior registration is required.

People can just join one of the sessions on the day via link provided via the campaign website.

Mr Downie, said: “We know this election campaign is a bit different but that doesn’t mean that voters shouldn’t expect to hear from their candidates and ask them questions before deciding how to vote.”

“Although not as good as meeting in person, these digital surgeries will give voters in Aberdeenshire East a chance to learn more about me and for me to find out what issues are at the forefront of their minds and how I might be able to help.”

“I hope people will take up the opportunity to take part and I will be announcing more sessions to take place right up to Election Day on 6 May.”

More information on how to join is available at graemedownie.com/events.

Anyone unable to join digitally should call the campaign on 07936 739 687 and Graeme will be happy to arrange a chat by a method best for you.
