THE MEADOWS Centre will officially open the newly furbished gym on August 7 when the committee hope to have a high profile individual launch a new era for the 21-year-old facility.
“We have been working hard to meet our deadline of an August opening, and thanks to the combined efforts of the staff, volunteers, and the trust club members we are going to achieve the objective”, said Chairman Jack Nixon, who intends to stand down from his position at the centre’s October AGM.
“I’m very proud to have been able to play a small part in getting Aberdeenshire’s second biggest sports centre into the 21st century.”
The official opening on August 7 will be preceded by a fun, family day on Sunday July 31 when bouncy castles and a range of social activities will be on offer to the club, starting at 1pm through 4pm.
“It’s a great chance for the local community to see first hand just what has been done over the last few months”, said Michelle Rothney and Shona Galbraith the joint managers of the Meadows. “We are very proud of the efforts our staff and friends have made to get the gym up to scratch.”
