Rotary club enjoy evening of harp playing

Harpist Vivienne Tegg entertained the Oldmeldrum Rotary Club at one of their recent meetings.

Musician, Vivienne has announced that she will be one of the judges on the panel of this year’s Rotary young musician of the year contest

Rotarians enjoyed a talk by Vivienne about her personal experiences and then some of her more traditional Scottish and Irish melodies.

Speaking after the evening, Club President Richard Thomson said: “We always like to enjoy ourselves at Rotary, but tonight’s performance from Vivienne was exceptional and one which I know our members thoroughly appreciated.

“We’re absolutely delighted that she has agreed to join the judging panel for our local heat of the Rotary ‘Young Musician of the Year’ competition.”

The competition, which will be held at Meldrum Academy hall on Monday, October 7 at 7pm, is open to all school pupils staying in the Meldrum Academy surrounding area and/or attending the associated Primary Schools or the Academy.
