Ellon Round Table members took to the streets of Ellon and Newburgh on the lead up to Christmas for their annual Santa collections.

Santa sat on his sleigh and waved to residents as he passed the various neighbourhoods.

The Round Table members carried on as expected despite poor road conditions due to snow and ice.

The group had a special Santa Tracker online for families to keep an eye on Santa’s location.

As well as collecting money for charity, the Round Table members held a collection for gifts.

Hundreds of items of various sizes were collected and donated to the Cash for Kids charity, ensuring that children across the North East had a present to open on Christmas Day.

George Stewart of Ellon Round Table said: “We have a rough total of £3,500 and we also collected over 400 gifts to donate to Cash for Kids.

“Despite the weather, it was a great success.

“We also sold all of our Christmas trees which raised nearly £600 in the same week. A new event for us that was a huge success.”
