Pitmedden got a spring clean courtesy of over 20 local volunteers on Saturday, April 22 despite the chilly weather.
Lots of families turned out again to take part in the Village Tidy supported by Udny Community Trust and PUT Community SCIO as part of Keep Scotland Beautiful ‘s annual campaign.
Pitmedden First Responders provided help on the day with a safety briefing and volunteer first aid cover, while Pitmedden Church provided facilities to enjoy a well-earned bacon roll and fine piece from Hattoncrook Deli at the end.
The village tidy was supported by Aberdeenshire Council’s Trade Waste Team, who provided litter pickers and bags, and the Roads Department who provided warning signs for traffic.
Bob Bamlett from PUT Community SCIO commented: “The village is noticeably tidier than in past years which is encouraging, but there are still hot-spots for litter.
“So, it is good to see people turn out on a Saturday morning to help make the village look its best.”
Udny Community Trust are coordinating another village spring clean in Udny Green on Saturday, May 13, meeting at 10am at the Dr Spence Memorial Hall.
Volunteers will be provided with equipment and refreshments will be served at the end.
