Employees at Ellon Tesco who organised a Fun Day to raise funds for Alzheimers Scotland have hailed the public response as ‘smashing’.
Organiser Claire Comery told the Times that the event had a good turnout, with hundreds of ‘chocolate fountain’ sticks sold.
“The day went really, really well,” she said. “Our original target was £1000, but we managed to raise £1300, which is quite incredible. Tesco will also donate another £200 to the pot, which means our overall donation comes to £1500.
“Everybody had a really good time and enjoyed themselves immensely. Our facepainter did a super job, and I should thank Lee McAllister, who did some of his own fundraising for the event.”
