Zippos Cricus, voted “Britain’s Best Circus” in 2013 and 2014, will bring its brand new show to Thainstone, Inverurie later this month.
The show, new for 2015, is title “OMG!”, and features world-renowned musical clowns the Rastellis, the beautiful horses and High School riding of Summer, and human-pyramid acrobats the Zulu Warriors.
The World’s Greatest Ringmaster, Norman Barrett MBE, also trains and presents his much-loved budgies in an act seen recently on television’s ‘Sunday Night at the London Palladium’.
Star clowns the Rastellis have won top awards all over the world, and historians have traced the roots of the Rastelli family to the 17th century. 100 years ago, Enrico Rastelli was the world’s cleverest and most famous juggler, and the Rastellis took to clowning in the 1920s. Zippo’s Circus has tempted the current generation to make their first British appearances for over thirty years. In the musical routine they’ve perfected, Oreste is joined by his brother Vittorio and sister-in-law Hajni, and audiences also love the brothers’ take on the classic ‘broken mirror’ routine.
The climax to the show is the nerve-tingling motorcycle Globe of Terror, with four bikers racing horizontally inside the tiny space while – seen here for the first time – the Globe splits open as they ride!
Zippo’s Circus is at Thainstone, Inverurie, from Monday, July 27, to Wednesday, July 29. Tickets from the circus box office open on site daily 10am to 8pm, or book in advance on 0871 210 2100. On-line booking at www.scotlandsfavouritecircus.scot
