LOCAL Families enjoyed a historic-themed fun day at Tolquhon Castle last Saturday, dodging the rain to make the most of historic surroundings.
Visitors were kept entertained by historical re-enactment group Clan Gaidhealach, who demonstrated a selection of Scottish military attire through the ages.
Property manager Dawn Murray told the Times: “The weather was a disaster, and probably stopped a lot of people coming who otherwise would have, But those who did turn up said that they really, really enjoyed themselves.
“A lot of people were asking when we would be doing it again, so we’re thinking of holding two next year. Our re-enactors were absolutely great: their exhibits were interactive, so people could take part. We also had facepainting, a wildlife treasure hunt for the kids, and teas, coffees and homebakes by members of Tarves Parish Church.
“It was a great day, and I’d like to thank everyone who came.”
