Tommy Sutherland has released his sixth CD

Tommy Sutherland’s new release, ‘At Last Take Six’, is full of easy listening clarinet music.

The album features Tommy playing another 16 of his favourite tunes which he hopes you will enjoy.

Tommy says this will be his last recording, but friends have told him to never say never.

Tommy is originally from Lerwick, Shetland and it was there that he first became interested in music. He started as a drummer, playing with the Saints and Trakkers Dance Bands at the Planets Ballroom, and at this time decided to teach himself to play Clarinet.

In the early 80s Tommy made the move to Aberdeenshire where he became a popular figure in the local dance band scene.

Shortly after moving south he joined the Graham Geddes Band, playing both the Clarinet and Drums, at venues such as Abredeen’s famous Beach Ballroom, as well as many others in the UK and abroad.

It was when he stopped playing in the Band that he wanted to continue with the Clarinet and make a few CDs of the music he would like as a keepsake.

With a music collection that spans decades Tommy admitted it was a difficult task to once again choose the songs, but has managed to narrow it down to 16.

The CD is on sale now at JRD Equipment priced £10.
