Ellon’s South Road is set to be closed for a period of two weeks to enable works to be carried out.
Councillor Gillian Owen had investigated the proposed closure after a number of residents raised their concerns with her.
She told the Times: “A number of residents quizzed me about the further closure of South Road and I emailed to ask the officer exactly what works were being carried out there in October.
“I was told that the council intended to carry out major edge strengthening and patching works during those two weeks.
“This is for a the stretch of road between the A90 and the access to the community campus.
“So access to the community campus itself will be from the Bridge Street end,” she said.
Cllr Own said that she understood that residents may be slightly frustrated about a further closure but added that it was at the top end of the road on this occasion.
“I am pleased to see that the officers are using the October school holidays to ensure that the disruption is minimal and look forward to seeing the end result,” she added.
