Young Farmers mark 90th anniversary
Udny JAC celebrated their 90th Anniversary by holding a celebratory dinner in Udny Green earlier this month.
The event was held in theDr Spence Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 6.
A total of 136 past and present members, along with guests, were in attendance where they enjoyed a three-course meal provided by Harry Fraser followed by coffee.
They were also treated to a piece of the club’s anniversary cake which was made by Mrs Anne Bennett and iced by Mrs Alison Bruce.
The cake was cut by the group’s oldest attending member, Mr Gordon Chessor, and one of the club’s youngest members, Mr Euan Frank.
A number of speakers were also invited to toast the club’s achievements over the past 90 years.
Mr Edward Johnston, a former member of the Inverurie club provided the Toast to the Club and Mr Gary Bruce, a current Udny member, gave the reply on behalf of the Club.
Mrs Fiona Walker, a past Udny member gave the Toast to the guests and Mrs Rachel Anderson, a past National Chairman provided the reply on behalf of the guests.
Mr Stuart Jamieson, the immediate past National Chairman congratulated the club on behalf of SAYFC.
A raffle was also held where a number of local companies donated generously to the event.
Throughout the evening photographs were projected onto a wall for all to see and many happy memories were shared.
