This year’s Ythan Cycle Run has collected almost £800 for charity.
Organisers Oldmeldrum Rotary Club welcomed around 60 cyclists to the annual event last Saturday.
Cyclists pedalled the 26-mile ‘challenge’ run during showery conditions as the youngsters took part in the 8-mile ‘family’ route.
A final figure has still to be confirmed, but organisers have revealed that they expect to have raised almost £800 through sponsorship and donations.
The proceeds will be split between Charlie House and of charities chosen by each rider.
Lead organiser Maurice Clarke said: “While the weather in the morning had been nice and sunny, the clouds rolled in after noon, and most of the cyclists experienced showers at some time during the run.
“Overall it wasn’t too bad, though, and everybody arrived back looking pretty cheerful.
“We couldn’t run an event like this without willing helpers for Marshals, registrars, and providing refreshments.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved in for their efforts in making this year’s Ythan Cycle Run another enjoyable and successful event.”
