It is very much an in form Inverurie Locos who are back in the title race after yet another two goal victory, winning 2-0 at Buckie.
It was Locos fourth such win the past five outings and, with 13 points out of a possible 15, they are now starting to put the heat on a Brora Rangers side who have the added responsibility of flying the flag for the Highland League in this year’s Scottish Cup.
Scott Buchan and Kenny Coull once again went with a settled line up that has done the business against former champions Deveronvale, Keith, Huntly and now Buckie Thistle, the loss of two points at Turriff not such a big disaster
Understrength Buckie were put under pressure early, Neil McLean failing to get enough power on his shot from a Martin Bavidge pass, and ex Jag Dean Donaldson also went close with a drive after the home side hesitated
David Ross was next to just miss the target when catching big keeper Andy Burr off his line but in 28 minutes the opener duly arrived, Ross ANDERSON putting his midweek on goal woes behind him to head home a Ross centre.
The nearest the Jags came to an equaliser was when Liam Baxter brought out a fine save at his near post by Scott Mathieson then it was Andy Low trying to score against his old team but seeing his effort come off the underside of the crossbar.
The points were tied up as early as the 51st minute when captain Neil McLEAN was on hand to sweep home a Ross cut back from 12 yards.
