Colony Park were unable to overcome Lewis United in their latest PMac Group League Division 1 match, losing 4-2 and slipping further behind leaders Buchanhaven Hearts.

The Inverurie team started well with Roddy Mess getting on the end of a Ness cross to head the ball home in two minutes.

Lewis United then had a couple half chances before their keeper made a great save from Strachan when he was through on goal in 10 minutes.

Colony had another chance in 19 minutes when Dorrat caused problems for the United defence and the ball fell to Strachan who shot just over the bar.

Three minutes later a great pass from Brown found Strachan and again he was thwarted by the Lewis keeper who made a great save.

Colony continued to press for another goal but it was Lewis who scored next when they converted a penalty they were awarded in 36 minutes.

In the time remaining before the interval Lewis continued to have the majority of the play until just before the break when a Strachan shot was deflected on to the bar and out for a corner leaving the teams tied 1-1 at half-time.

Colony started the second half well forcing an early corner. Adam Maitland put in a good cross to Dorrat whose shot was just wide of the post.

However, Dorrat made no mistake three minutes later when he scored with a great header from a Ness cross in 49 minutes.

Park were then awarded a direct free kick outside the box from which Brown hit a good shot which was well taken by the Lewis keeper.

The Aberdeen side equalised in 61 minutes when the Colony defence were unable to clear.

Lewis then added a third goal to make the score 3-2 after 65 minutes.

Bremner replaced Crosbie and Chalmers replaced Douglas for Park.

Lewis United continued to be on top and they added a fourth goal in 85 minutes.

Colony had a late corner in added time but the Lewis defence cleared to leave the final score 4-2 to the home team.
