Colony Locos (U19s) took on local rivals Kemnay in a Murray Cup play-off match on Saturday, (August 23).
In a closely fought match goals from SIMPSON, MCCABE and an own goal gave Colony a 3-1 win.
Colony Colts U19s got the season off to a bang with a 6-4 win over Culter Rovers, also in the Murray Cup paly-offs, with a BROWN hat-trick, two for GARDEN and another goal by MUNRO.
Colony Park U17s and U16s both lost their opening games, the U17s losing 4-1 to Fraserburgh and the U16s 3-1 to Formartine.
Colony Park U16s found the going tough after promotion to the A League, going down 5-1 to ALC Athletic. Although WILSON netted for Colony, the match was dominated by the injury to Colony keeper Dylan Faskin who broke his wrist and will be out until the New Year. Keith Robertshaw made his debut as Faskin’s replacement in difficult circumstances.
Colony Park U15s hit the ground running with an impressive 9-0 victory over Stonehaven with eight players on the score sheet. REID hit a double and there were goals for CLARK, MACKIE, LIDDELL, MACLEOD, MACIVER, O’GRADY and BEVERLEY.
Contrasting form for Colony Colts U14s who lost 9-0 to Hilton, but the high scoreline didn’t reflect the number of chances Colony created but could not capitalise on.
The two Colony U13 sides also had contrasting fortunes with Colony Park U13s winning 9-1 while the Colts went down 20-0
