After the match home boss Kenny Coull said: “After a few weeks out of action it’s a great way to start the year.
We asked the players to start the game well and they certainly did so. I was happy with the performance, we were comfortable, stopped them from playing and we defended well in the second half after having a player sent off.
“Jordan Leyden was fantastic, he got on the ball and caused them problems, we had Jamie Michie and Marc Young sitting protecting and it allowed our forward players to keep pressing, all the players on the park performed.
“Unfortunately Marc stupidly got himself sent off, which will see him being fined and is now out of the team giving somebody else the chance to come in. It’s a real shame as he was playing well. We kept our discipline, Scott Begg came in to help Jamie with the protecting job.
“We now need a run of games and to keep playing as we have players coming back from injury, the players have worked hard in training the last few weeks.
“We will now prepare for the visit to Forres, big strong physical team. But big Kieran Adams and Ryan Broadhurst will again be ready for it, it was a good clean sheet, another one for Scott.”
