Inverurie Locos co-manager Scott Buchan was livid after the game. He said, “I thought we would go on and win the tie when we got to 2-2 with eleven men. But once again we shot ourselves in the foot.
“The referee told me Kieran Adams was sent off for an elbow offence. Kieran said he didn’t, I didn’t see it. We said at half time they were trying to wind him up at free kicks and corners. He was punished with ten minutes to go when we were back in the game.
“We were really poor in the first half, it was more galling that Nairn were really up for the game. Our players were not at the races, completely causing our own problems. Not good enough.
“Nairn’s first from a free kick played into good area sees the guy run 30 yards to get the rebound. I don’t know if I need to say anything about the second. A centre half thinking he can take on everybody. Caught out and it’s a fantastic finish. You just don’t try that against any team, it’s not rocket science.
“We got back in the game really well, some needed to be told at half time and it shouldn’t be needed. It should come from within. The guys took a look at themselves and said let’s have a go. You saw the difference was night and day”
Turning his attention to this Saturday, it’s a home clash against Deveronvale who lost heavily at Clach, Buchan added, “You have to be brutally honest and say you want to achieve as many wins as you possibly can, see how high up we can finish. We won’t win the League because we don’t defend well enough.
“If you look at the teams at the top like Brora and Turriff, they don’t conceded a lot of goals. I’d like to think the players will be playing for their futures here next season, we’re not here to be second.”
