Colony Park lost on their return to league duty following their Scottish Cup escapades, going down 3-1 to East End.
Colony featured a much changed team who along with the players of East End took part in ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ prior to the kick off.
Colony started the match in lively fashion with Adam Maitland having a shot well saved by Cameron the East End keeper, then Chalmers had a shot over the bar.
East End hit back and Bruce Smith was given a lot of space on the right wing and his cross found the head of Ryan SMITH who headed into the Colony net giving his the lead.
The lead was short lived as five minutes later Adam MAITLAND picked up a loose ball on the 18 yard line and shot well into the opposition net to bring the teams level at one all.
However Colony Park only held the lead until the 13th minute when a 50 yard cross field pass from Helson seemed to elude the Colony Park defenders and Bruce SMITH was able to get past Sim and place the ball into the empty net. Colony had an excellent move between Bremner and Peden with the latter’s shot just wide. At the interval East end lead by 2-1.
Both teams worked hard to find another goal and East End scored a decisive third goal in the 85th minute. This may well be the goal of the season in the league by Redwan RACEF who scored a spectacular overhead kick of which Messi or Ronaldo would have been proud. All at the game applauded this wonderful piece of skill. Reid replaced Bremner for Colony Park who tried hard to find the net again and Bonarius put a shot over the bar from close range. However the score remained 3-1 for East end and consigned Colony Park to their third league defeat in a row
