Inverurie Locos went steaming back to the top of the table with a stunning seven goal salvo against Lossiemouth on Saturday.

David Ross was the Red and Black’s goal hero as he grabbed four goals, all of them coming in the first forty five minutes and there was absolutely no doubt the in-form former Don was a clear Man of The Match.

Having served warning of his intent with an effort of goal with 100 seconds gone he went on to net in the 13th, 20th and 23rd minutes with Martin Bavidge heavily involved in the build ups before completing a stunning first half display with his fourth in first half injury time.

Dean Donaldson ensured there was no let up after the break then Martin Bavidge made it 6-0 with a drive from distance in the 72nd minute before Andrew Hunter rounded off the scoring nine minutes later following good play by sub Ryan Keir.

All the doom and gloom from the week before following a five goal home defeat by Brora forgotten. And with the Cattachs being held to to a 1-1 home draw by Formartine Utd perhaps there will be no further talk in the meantime about a League being won by early September
