SNAGS brings to close GASC season

Held in Aberdeen for the first time, in the wonderful Aquatic Centre, the Scottish National Age Group Championships (SNAGS) brought the Garioch Amateur Swimming Club’s season to a close.

A number of swimmers signed off with some excellent performances. Orla Adams (19) won gold in the 400IM and bronze in the 200IM, achieving five finals in total. Alistair Miley (19) won silver in the 400IM and reached six finals, while sister Hannah Miley (24) won four golds in the 100 breast, 200IM, 200 free
and 100 fly.

Shannon Crawford, Gavin Haggerwood, Joseph Miley, Spencer O’Grady and Daniel McNally all did very well to make finals in their age group, swimming strongly and making
good PBs.

In addition, Austeja Erniute, Findlay Douglas, Peter Holmes and Christy Johnston all did well to qualify for individual events, gaining good experience of competing at the
highest level.

There were a range of relay swims, too, and congratulations are due to Daniel McKenzie, Phelim McNally, Cameron Crawford, Heather McIntosh, Lauren McPhee and Gemma Ogg for doing the club proud with some exciting swims.

Thanks are also due to our coaches, Eavan Adams, Gitte Whitehead and Patrick Miley, and to the parents who officiated.
