Udny Tennis Club hold busy open day

Udny Tennis Club in Pitmedden held an open day on Sunday to mark the launch of the new season.

There was a large turnout of both existing members renewing their subscriptions and visitors keen to find out what the club had to offer, with many taking out membership on the day.

The two courts were in constant use with the club having a professional coach on one coaching the younger visitors, while the other court was used for the many fun activities.

Members of all ages tested their serves against the radar speed gun which gave a read-out of speed of their serves, and there were some impressive results.

The club laid on refreshments and home-bakes and there was also a barbeque. The events were rounded off with a raffle draw.

Club chairman Tim Gilpin then thanked everyone for attending and for participating in the activities.
