In the anglers bothy at Lochter Fishery, discussion has been focused on Kate McLaren who, as far as we are aware, is not standing for election and Walters “secret weapon” which, as far as we are aware, is not being used to threaten or cajole potential voters.

The secret weapon (WSW) did well for Peter Wilson who had 10 on Saturday and Sandy Anderson who netted 12 in terrible conditions on Sunday.

Bill Gibb had a great day using a mix of Blobs, Daddies and Buzzers he tempted 21, but when the returning officer checked the rewards topping the poll was the master of the flick retrieve, Robbie Ewen who used Cormorants and Buzzers to catch and return 31 nice fish.

The Kate McLaren was one of the small nymphs used by Lochter regular Alan Logan who had 10 to his name.

Robert MacPherson, although new to angling, was delighted to land ten on his cast of Buzzers and the same flies did well for Alan Gordon, A Brown and Peter Young. The forecast is for more changeable weather.
