All roads lead to New Deer this weekend as the annual New Deer Show gets underway at Craigieford Park.
The two-day show will be held on July 16 and 17, with a marquee dance on the Saturday evening.
The popular weekend regularly attracts between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors from all walks of life, looking for something a little different to their usual family weekend.
This year’s show will feature all the popular events including horse, cattle and dog shows; vintage cars/motorbikes, tractors and vans; trusk and the industrial and horticultural shows.
This year the show will feature a comedy night on Friday, July 15, with Jim Smith and Friends fropm 7pm to 12 am.
Tickets are available priced £10 each - or £90 for a table of ten - and can be purchased online via the show website.
There will be a licensed bar so the evening is restricted to over 18s only. Food will also be available.
Saturday’s line-up at the park inclues horse, cattle, sheep, fur & feather and young handlers’ classes.
There will also be the popular YFC tug o’ war and a tractor fest.
There will be a sheep dog trial demonstration by Joe McKenzie, children’s fancy dress, a pets parade and races and a baby show. Music for the day will be provided by Buckie Pipe Band.
On the Sunday there will be vintage and classic vehicles, an It’s a Knockout competition, dog show, pony club games, horse jumping and Ferguson and Massie Ferguson 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th anniversary displays.
There will also be a Critter Keeper and lots, lots more to entertain the whole family.
The evening will end with the marquee dance with music this year provided by Mick Flavin. Admission is £10, payable at the door on the night.
Again, this is for over 18s only and ID will be required.
Admission to this year’s show is £10 for adults and £5 for OAPs and children 12-16 years. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge.
