Ellon’s Victoria Hall once more opened its doors to cinema-goers on Sunday with nearly full-houses for both features.

The films were Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph and the evening screening was Lincoln.

Organisers said that word was spreading about the professional set-up provided by the Ellon Cinema Club and Film Mobile Scotland.

Film buffs have praised the atmosphere, the friendly volunteers and the hall with its dimmed lighting, background music and chairs set out like a “proper” cinema.

The community has voted with its feet by supporting the venture and it is hoped if this success continues, funding will be sought from grant sources to procure the hall’s own projector and surround sound systems. Plans are under way and the all-important gathering of specifications is now on-going.
