The summer may be drawing to a close but there is still plenty to look forward to in Aberdeen.

Behind-the-scenes tours of His Majesty’s Theatre are a must for any visitor to the city, as well as local residents.

The autumn season of 90-minute Saturday tours at 10.30am will run on October 4, 18 and 25, November 18 and 25 and December 13.

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers take visitors through His Majesty’s modern £7.8m extension as well as the 106-year-old original building, designed by the legendary theatre architect Frank Matcham.

The tour explores the new and old sections of the city centre landmark, providing an opportunity to get on stage and see HMT from the eyes of a performer in one of the most beautiful theatres in Scotland.

Then it’s backstage to get a glimpse of the inner workings of a busy theatre – and pick up some inside knowledge of its spooky past.

Places are limited to only 20 people per tour.

The cost of the tours are £5 (£3 concession) plus booking fee.

These can be booked through Aberdeen Box Office in person at the Music Hall or His Majesty’s Theatre or by calling 01224 641122.

They are subject to availability and sell out very quickly so make sure you get along and get your tour of this fantastic theatre booked now.
